The launch of the National Site Standard (NSS) for women is a really positive step for our industry.
As a woman-founded health, safety and wellbeing consultancy, this is something we at Gateway HSW feel strongly about.
Construction needs to attract and retain more talented women, but that will only happen if people feel safe, respected and supported from day one. Standards like the NSS are an important step, but creating an inclusive culture is everyone’s responsibility.
It’s about more than facilities and PPE. It’s about leadership, challenging inappropriate behaviour, speaking up, and creating psychologically safe workplaces where everyone can thrive.
At Gateway HSW, we believe that good health and safety is about people. When people feel included, valued and listened to, everyone benefits.
It’s great to see the industry taking action, and we hope many organisations will adopt the National Site Standard and help make positive site cultures the norm.
