We offer an extensive selection of online training courses. We pride ourselves that our online training is dynamic enough to offer many of our classroom based courses online. Of course, we love seeing everyone face to face but COVID-19 has showed us that its not always possible to meet in a classroom environment but this doesn’t mean high quality training and development should stop.
Whether training is delivered online or in the classroom the same high standard of learning is offered, our online courses are still delivered by experienced trainers and Subject Matter Experts. Online training does offer greater flexibility to access training from more locations all at the same time. Our online courses are generally delivered via Zoom but occasionally are delivered using other platforms. Either way you will be provided with all the log in details prior to the training with a step by step guide to using the training platform. If you have any concerns or questions please get in touch.
We recommend that you access the online training from a computer, it is possible to access via a mobile phone but the functionality and the size of the device may affect your experience of the course. All our online courses are interactive, and you will be working amongst fellow learners on activities, so it is best to access the course from a quiet location with minimal distractions.
We understand that online training is not for everyone. However all our trainers are experienced at delivering online courses, so will be there to support throughout the course and you can contact them at any time if you need further assistance. There are opportunities to speak to the trainer one to one if necessary.
What to expect when you join us for our online training
Step 1
You will receive course joining instructions which will include the course timings, links to access the training, and pre-course material, trainer details and contact details if you need ay further assistance.
The training instructions also contain a step by step guide to using the training platform. You will also be sent a calendar invite with the link to access the training.
Step 2
On the day of the training, we suggest you access the training platform approximately 15 minutes before the course starts, this allows you to familarise yourself with the functionality of the platform and ensure everything is working ok. Do not worry if you are having any problems as you will have our contact details and we will be available to offer assistance.
We recognize long periods on screen can be tiring, so all our courses have plenty of breaks and activities away from the screen which allows you to stay refreshed and focused.
The trainer will share presentations, handouts, videos and additional training materials to your screen throughout the training. Engagement is key, so you will be encouraged to interact with other learners by speaking or utilising other functions such as the chat facility. We are happy for you to interact in whatever way you feel most comfortable
Step 3
When you successfully complete your training, and any necessary assessments, you will receive a certificate.
Following the training, you will be asked to complete a feedback form. please take the time to complete the form – your feedback is important to us and helps us to deliver high quality training.
We will keep in touch and let you know of any other training that may support your professional development.
At GatewayHSW, we are aware of our carbon footprint so will digitalise course material where appropriate. We appreciate that this does not suit everyone, so feel free to print it out if it makes your learning experience better.
All course materials will be provided to you when you start the training.
Frequently asked questions
What time does the training start?
The course times will be included in your joining instructions.
Do I need to prepare anything and is there any pre-reading material?
Any course material that is needed will be sent to you prior to the course.
We are currently trying to reduce our use of paper so where possible material will be sent electronically, it is your choice if you wish to print it out for the course.
Some courses have a coursebook included and these will be posted to the address you provide when registering for the course.
How do I pay for the course?
Once you have completed a booking form, you will receive an invoice for prompt payment.
This will need to be paid prior to starting the training.
I attended the first day, but am unable to attend the second day, can I reschedule?
If you cannot complete the course, where possible we will try enable you to attend the second day on a different date.
If this is not possible, you may need to resit the course to complete full attendance and gain certification. It is our policy to be as accommodating as possible.
Will I get notes to take away from the course?
Course handouts will be provided either hard copy or electronic.
Can I tailor the content of a course to fit my needs?
We specialise in providing bespoke courses.

What happens if I need to leave the course early?
We understand that things may happen that mean you have to leave, we ask that you make the trainer aware at the earliest opportunity and we will contact you at a later date to discuss the completion of the course.
Can I use my phone and take calls?
We appreciate that you may have to take urgent calls during the course.
We ask that your phones remain on ‘silent’ and if you have to take a call, you let the trainer know that you are taking a call before switching off you microphone and camera.
English is not my first language, is the course material available in other languages?
We have translated several of our courses into a variety of different languages.
If you let us know what language is required, we can confirm what is available.
I cannot read or write can I still attend the course?
Our courses are interactive but can be completed without any issues.
Please let us know prior to attending the training session, and we can make reasonable adjustments to support those who cannot read or write.
