The Directors at Gateway are proud to advocate the importance of health and safety, not only at work, but also in our personal lives.
Recently Shelley Stiles has supported her local Scouting group with briefings on risk assessment, as well as continuing to help out at cub sessions as a volunteer.
Shelley said “following recent cases in the press, I wanted to offer support to my local scout group and help them with their risk assessment processes”.
Shelley delivered two briefings to help raise awareness of the importance of risk assessment and shared practical tips on how to use risk assessment effectively during the wide variety of scout group activities. The briefings were well received and have helped generate positive discussion, as well as developing confidence of future generations with risk assessment.
Shelley added “it’s a different domain to the one I am involved with at work, so it was really good to refresh myself around safe guarding risks and those volunteering in my local community – great CPD for me too!”
