We are excited to announce that Laura Finucane has joined the Gateway Team. Laura is an ex-GB athlete who represented GB at World Junior, European Under 23 and World University finals and rose to 5th in the GB rankings before persistent injuries meant she had to give up her Olympic dream.
Laura was such a talented athlete she became a protégé of Dame Kelly Holmes before a fractured shin and damaged Achilles tendon stopped her elite level participation in the sport she loved. Laura’s passion for sport and running remains and she can still be found running at lunchtime or having a session in the gym.
Laura is not only a talented sportswoman but also excelled in her studies, successfully obtaining a Sports Science and Management Degree at Loughborough University.
Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Gateway including a valuable insight into the demands of being a top athlete and the challenges on both the body and mind this brings. Laura will be working on some new and exciting projects and we are looking forward to working with her (but not the speed of the lunchtime runs!!!!!!!!!!!)
